This weekend I did photos for a good friend of mine and I am very pleased with the results. We had a great time and spent more time talking than taking photos. I wasn't as... focused? in this photo shoot as I typically am in others, mostly because friendship comes before business. I very much enjoyed how calm and how easily Matt listened to my direction - it made everything so much easier for me.

And as we walked through the park, a gentleman stopped me, asked why I was taking photos and when I told him I was a photographer, he asked me to take a few photos of him and the two kids he was with. I'll definitely post a photo of one of the kids here, he was adorable and the photo came out fantastic! Plus it made me feel pretty awesome. :)

{baby shower}

This weekend I had the honor of photographing a surprise baby shower for Mrs. June Dambreville! She absolutely loved it! Her mother was bustling about the house getting last minute details ready saying, "June kept saying she didn't want a baby shower but everyone wants a baby shower and she's going to love it!" She certainly did! June is having a little girl, due October 15th 2010 and her name is going to be Giselle - though I don't think they've officially decided on a middle name for her. Her colors are pink and green, a very lovely combination!

{yay photos}

I have been so busy getting things ready for... well everything. School, upcoming photo shoots, work, all of it. Getting marketing materials on order, setting up shoots and rescheduling others - I have a lot more coming up than I thought. Plus the fall semester, always my busiest time of year, starts very soon. I'm excited but also I don't really think I want to get into all the work that comes with it.

I did a photo shoot yesterday evening of Krystal and Brad for their engagement. They get along so well and they really move together well. I don't usually see that so it's a really nice change; they're so cute together.

{work, work, work}

"...all week 'til the job gets done."

That's what I've been up to lately! So I tried to do the ever-popular Project 365 - one photo every day for a year - and I know it's not impossible, but it is indeed very hard to do. I've been very busy and I've fallen far behind. But instead of restarting right now and possibly getting farther behind when classes start back up, I think I'll just put the whole thing on hold until I have time, perhaps during the spring semester.

Instead, I've got several other projects, much simpler, in mind and hopefully they'll work out well. For now, I'll simply close this with a photo I've been very intrigued by lately. I took this about a week ago and though there are many clearer images out there of lightning, I really like how lit up the sky was and I didn't want to erase that... Have a great week! :)
